Introduction
The department of general administration is responsible for executing tasks varying from human resource management and coordination of activities, to ensure the well functioning of the Institute.
Led by a general manager, the department comprises two units : the administrative secretariat and finance and accounting.
The Administrative Secretariat
The Administrative secretariat is responsible for:
- Reception, registry and transmission of arriving mail to the Secretariat of the Institute's directorate;
- Reception, registry and transmission of departing mail;
- Classification and filing of all administrative documents;
- Management of telephone calls;
- Write up of the minutes of all meetings;
- Drafting of administrative correspondence;
- Translation of all research, training and conference documents;
- Recruitment and administrative management of personnel.
S/he is assisted by a liaison agent and manages all external service providers.
Accounting and Finance
The purpose of the unit is to manage the Institute's accounts, finances and budget. However the administrative secretary manages petty cash.
