Introduction

The Institute of Empirical Research in Political Economy (IERPE or IREEP in French) is one of the most active African institutions in empirical research. The Institute has conducted several research projects and surveys on issues pertinent to governance, democracy and assessment of public policy, etc.

IERPE is a core partner of the Afrobarometer network, which conducts opinion surveys on governance and democracy in 18 African countries. This partnership has been established thanks to the quality of studies and research undertaken by the Institute.

IERPE’s research department also offers technical assistance to different institutions in Benin and in the rest of Africa by conducting impact studies, market studies, etc.
