Yves F. Atchade

PhD in statistics, University of Montreal, 2003. His research focuses on Monte Carlo methods. Currently teaches statistics at the University Of Michigan in the United States after a post doctoral year at Harvard University. His work focuses on limit theorems for Markov chains, Monte Carlo methods, bioinformatics and causal inference. His work appeared in the Annals of Statistics and Statistics.

Emmanuelle Auriol

PhD economics, University of Toulouse. Professor, University of Toulouse I since 1998. Former post doctoral fellow, University of California, Berkeley. Areas of specialization: regulations, Industrial organizations, development economics. Her work appeared in the International Journal of Industrial Organization, the Journal of Labor Economics, Annales d’Economie et de statistique, American Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Economics, etc.

Boubacar Barry

Doctorat d'etat in African History University Cheikh Anta Diop, Dakar, Senegal. Doctorate in History, Sorbonne, Paris. Areas of specialization: History of West Africa (15th –20th centuries), Pre-colonial states , Islam and Oral tradition, impact of Slavery, Regional integration, and democratic transitions in Africa. Boubacar Barry is the author of several books including Senegambia and the Atlantic Slave Trade, Cambridge- University Press and Commerce et Commercants en Afrique de l'Ouest - Le Senegal avant la Conquete - L'Harmattan, Paris, France.

Jean-Pierre Benoit

PhD in Economics, Stanford University. Full professor at New York University, Department of Economics. Areas of specialization: economic theory, Game theory, Law and economics; Industrial organization. He is one the most influential specialists in the areas of game theory and economic theory. He made remarkable contributions to the study of repeated games. His articles appeared in major journals including the Journal of Economic Theory, the Journal of Political Economy, International Economic Review, American Political science Review. Etc.

Olivier Compte

Research fellow at CERAS-ENPC, Ingénieur des Ponts et Chaussées, his research activities concern the application of game theory to auctions, bargaining and collusion.

Guy Degla

Winner of the 2007 TWAS-Prize for young researcher in the field of Mathematics awarded in partnership with the Beninese Center for Scientific Researches and Technologies (CBRST). Obtained a PhD in Functional Analysis and Applications from the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), Trieste, Italy (2001) after getting a Diploma in Mathematics at the Abdus SaIam International Center for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Trieste, Italy (1997) and a Master Degree in Mathematics at the University of Abomey-calavi, Benin Republic (1995). Former SISSA Post-Doctoral Fellow (2002), ICTP Post-Doctoral Fellow (2003), and CAS-TWAS Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Sciences (AMSS) of the Chinese Academy of sciences (CAS), Beijing, China (2005-2006). Visited, during March-April 2008, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA and the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IPAM-UCLA), CA, USA. His works appeared in the Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, Nonlinear Analysis, Advanced Nonlinear Studies and in the Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society. His current research activities focus on Geometric Analysis and Applications. He is currently at IMSP (Institut de Mathematiques et de sciences Physiques) in Benin Republic.

Pierre Dubois

PhD in Economics, EHESS, Paris, France; former Assistant Professor, University of Montreal. Research Associate, INRA, University of Toulouse where he teaches microeconomics in the Masters program (2nd year). Areas of Specialization: Development economics; program evaluation in less developed countries.

Denis Fougere

Denis Fougère is a director of researches to the NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and Professor lecturer in economy at the national School of the statistics and the economic administration and at the Ecole polytechnique. He is member of the Research center in economy and statistics (Insee). He is scientific adviser in the center of strategic analysis and to the Ministry of Education ( DEPP). He is besides Research Fellow in Center for Policy and Economic Research (London) and to the Institute zur Zukunft der Arbeit (Bonn). His research domains are the evaluation of the public policies, the econometrics of the unemployment, the integration of the immigrants and their children, and the analysis of the socioeconomic determiners of the crime.

Guy Lacroix

PhD Economics, Laval University, Quebec, Canada. Full Professor, department of economics, Laval University. He specializes in labor economics, health economics and applied econometrics. His research focuses on (1) the interaction between safety nets income policies and individual behavior on job markets, and the (2) assessment of the effectiveness of reinsertion policies for unskilled workers. His work on developing countries (Benin) appeared in the Journal of Health Economics (1996). H also co-authored a paper that models decision making in polygamous households in Burkina Faso with A. Dauphine, B. Fortin. An extension will soon be submitted to the Journal of Political Economy.

Jean-François Laslier

Jean François Laslier is a director of researches to the NATIONAL CENTRE FOR SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and Professor lecturer at the Ecole polytechnique. Chief publisher of the review Mathematical Social Sciences, embre du conseil of " Society for Social Choice and Welfare ", his research activities concern the Theory of the Social Choice, the Theory of the Games and tired Applications in the Politics.

Franck Portier

Professeur of economics, University of Toulouse; Research director at the Institute of Industrial Economics, Toulouse, France. Holds a PhD in economics from the University of Paris I, Pantheon-Sorbonne. Areas of Specialization: macroeconomics (Fiscal Policy ; monetary policy ; international macroeconomics ; applied time series etc.) environment economics (global warming, economic analysis of the kyoto protocol ; economic growth). His work in prestigious journals such as the European Economic Review, Journal of the Japanese and international Economies, Review of Economic Dynamics, Annales d'Economie et de Statistiques. He is also the author of several books including Les cycles economiques and, Fondements des rigidites nominales

Leonard Wantchekon

Leonard Wantchekon, is a Professor of Politics and Economics at New York University. He taught at Yale University (1995 - 2000), and was a visiting fellow at the Center of International Studies at Princeton University (2000-2001). He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Northwestern University (1995) and his M.A. in Economics from Laval University and University of British Columbia (1992).
He is the author of several articles on post-civil war democratization, resource curse, electoral clientelism and experimental methods in the Quarterly Journal of Economics, American Political Science Review, World Politics, Comparative Political Studies, Journal of Conflict Resolution and Constitutional Political Economy. He is the editor of the Journal of African Development (JAD), formally known as Journal of African Finance and Economic Development (JAFED).
