IERPE is one of the most active African institutions in empirical research. The Institute has conducted several research projects and surveys on issues pertinent to governance, democracy and assessment of public policy. Since its inception, IERPE has steadily become a reference point in public policy research and in training at the graduate level in economics and statistics.

IERPE also organizes seminars, workshops and public lectures. Informal interaction among researchers, visiting scholars and ASE (African School of Economics) faculty is encouraged. The Institute provides meeting space, a documentation center, and a common room for spontaneous conversations.

IERPE is part of the African School of Economics a pioneering university headquartered in Cotonou (Benin). Created in 2014, ASE is widely acknowledged as a global leader in excellence in Economics and Statistics graduate training in West Africa.
